Creating Beautiful Bedrooms for Children to Thrive

8 Year Old Girl Gets a Lovely New Space

Before

Two sisters had slept on the 2 mattresses shown here.  There were no bed frames and the headboard was too large to be attached.

Tragically, the older sister passed away in an accident.  The younger girl did not want to sleep there without her sister.

Our job was to create a beautiful space that completely reflected a bright, quiet little girl who loves books and the colour pink.

Sometimes things just come together perfectly.  We painted this room a soft pink with white trim.  The white wrought iron bed and nearly new mattress were donated just when we needed it.  A new pink and white sheet set with ballerinas on it was an earlier donation.  We had a new pillow, a duvet and a small pink rug too.  A new supporter donated a very large duvet cover which one of our volunteers transformed into lovely curtains.

A 3 piece set of solid wood furniture in glossy white, fit in just perfectly.

A lovely desk was the third matching piece donated.  We paired it with a clear acrylic chair.  The desk contains school supplies and more books.

Sturdy hangers meant more clothes could be hung in the closet.  We also provided a storage unit, laundry basket and a new pink bath towel on a door hook.
