Children storing their clothes in a broken desk

Two boys, aged 5 and 9, were storing their clothes in a broken desk, found in their apartment dumpster.

 

 

 

We “upcycled” a sturdy mid-century dresser for them .   We also gave them school supplies and some story books.  When we were leaving, the 9 year old said “I’m going to remember you for a long, long time.”
