2 Little Brothers Get A Big Upgrade

Before

This boy’s bed was fine and had storage drawers but he was old enough to need a thicker mattress.

The younger brother needed more than a broken toddler bed.  The dressers the brothers were using had broken and missing drawers.

The little brother got a mate’s bed and mattress from his sister’s room, as well as this small wooden dresser.  We brought another small dresser and placed it in their closet so they both have lots of storage.  We brought a new, thicker mattress for the older brother and both beds were dressed in brown and blue bedding depicting cyclists, which the boys really liked.  We centred peel and stick frames over the dresser for the boys to fill and surrounded them with the boys’ space stickers.

This is the side of the room devoted to the younger brother.  As well as a bed, he got an adjustable  student desk, chair and school supplies.  He dictated a letter to his mom that says he loves what we did and at bedtime, he likes to read the book we left for him.

The older brother’s side of the room also has a student desk, chair and school supplies.  One of our volunteers created the lovely beige striped curtains which we hung over a new beige roller blind.
