Creating Beautiful Bedrooms for Children to Thrive

Together But Apart

Before

This tiny room was shared by a teen girl and her 8 year old brother.  They didn’t want to share the mattress on the floor, so the thin mattress at the right became his bed on the living room floor each night.  The dresser in this photo had broken drawers.

After

We painted a solid maple, donated bunk bed and assembled it on site.

We provided two new mattresses and added new bedding and pillows.  We used their favourite colours; green for him …

… and red for her.  The bed looks great and can be separated into 2 single beds if circumstances change in the future.

We brought a new dresser to share, plus a desk and chair for the teen.

For her brother, books and school supplies were in a long, sectioned “case” tied onto the side rail of his top bunk.  These cases are created by one of our amazing volunteers.
