Creating Beautiful Bedrooms for Children to Thrive

Two Brothers Become Roommates

Before

Two brothers, aged 10 and 17, were to share this room.  The walls needed to be patched, primed and painted but the sturdy metal bunk bed was just fine.  They each had a functional dresser, but the desks and chairs had come to them well used and needed to be replaced.

We dressed the two beds with new linens, comforters and pillows.  On each bed is a donated toiletry kit and a new towel.

We painted the walls their chosen colour and freshened the trim with white.  One of our volunteers created these striped curtains from a donated sheet set.  We hung them on a new silver pole and provided a new white roller blind for privacy.

This glass desk was perfect for the older brother and the beautiful upholstered chair was donated new.

The younger brother’s desk was donated just in time for this installation.  The chair was found at a Habitat for Humanity ReStore.  As always, we provided some school supplies and a waste basket.
